Jolly Good Oysters

This summer I got a job at a nice restaurant that serves mainly seafood. It's known for being a fish house restaurant. In this restaurant, there was a bar for drinks and a bar for oysters. I became fascinated with the oyster bar and how cool oysters were. Oysters are kinda funky looking and aren’t very appealing to everyone. I find them to be very mysterious and odd looking which made me want to know more about them. Luckily for me, I was kinda forced to learn about them because we were all getting quizzed on the menu.       Here is a little of what I learned.      “Don’t worry, you’ll figure it out” This is a quote I hear from adults often. My major is Interdisciplinary Studies which consists of three minors. My three minors are Public Health, Psychology, and Biology. I recently switched majors from Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences. I planned on taking the Speech Pathologist route. This was sort of upsetting for me because I felt like I have failed myself for not taking school more seriously and not being able to keep up with the workload. This was also upsetting for my mom because she was rooting for me and for my career life. I then began to feel ready about the situation and realized I needed to figure out what career path I wanted to take.        Figuring out what I wanted for myself for the rest of my life made me very overwhelmed and confused about myself. The endless thoughts of not knowing what it is exac

It can affect how we act, think feel, how we react to certain things and how we relate to others.  Mental health is overall important for our health, well-being, and quality of life. Taking care of ourselves and our mind is an essential way of taking care of our mental health.  As our world continues to progress, it can seem that sometimes there is more good than bad. With so much going on in the world, it is hard not to focus on the bad. Aside from the world possibly seeming like a dark place, our personal lives can be rocky as well. We all go through things that can break us down, life can throw sudden curve balls at us when we least expect it. With so many daily problems we face, life can seem to be unbearable sometimes. Self-care is an important part of life that seems to be diminished by others or not taken as seriously as it should be.  Self-care means taking the time to do things that help you live well and
